Q: What is Creative Cart?
A:
Creative Cart is a shopping cart (e-commerce) service. It allows companies to add an easy to use Internet sales capability on their website. For example, if the web site where you are shopping is thought of as a supermarket, then the company provides the web site (the store), the products (canned goods), and the workers. In this example, the shopping basket, the point of sale terminal (cash register), and the checkout person are rented from Creative Cart.

A:
Click on "View Cart." For each item in your shopping cart, under the heading "Qty" there is a box with a number in it. Change the number to be the quantity that you wish to order. Then click the update button to make the quantity changes take effect. The system will update your shopping cart and show you the new amount.

Q: When I go to check out, why is my shopping cart empty?
A:
You either have not pressed a "Buy" button to order an item. Buy buttons often say, "Buy Now", "Add to Cart", "Purchase", or something similar. You must place the items in your shopping cart before checking out by clicking on "Buy" buttons.

Q: What are cookies?
A:
A cookie is a piece of data used by web servers to store short term data on a person's web browser. Cookies put on a browser by a server can only be retrieved by that particular server and no other server. Creative Cart uses the cookies to store an "index card" to items you want to order. The index card is also used to access your stored shopping cart and your remembered data (if you have chosen to be remembered).

Q: Aren't cookies bad?
A:
No. Although I suppose people can always find a way to abuse everything. There are many "urban myths" about cookies. Here are the facts: No one can track anybody's movement around the Internet using cookies. They can't tell where you've been or what you've done on the Internet. A server can only retrieve a cookie from someone's browser if that server put the cookie there in the first place. No other server can retrieve that cookie. Turning cookies off to increase Internet anonymity is akin to being afraid of a black cat crossing your path. It's just high tech superstition. Here are just a few other places where you can learn about cookies, why they are needed, why they are not "bad", and what they can do for you:

Q: Is my credit card number safe?
A:
Yes. Creative Cart uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), 128 bit encryption to ensure the safety of your personal data. Your data is kept in a secure area that is only shared with the company that you are purchasing from. To learn more about site security see Creative Cart's Security Summary.

Q: How will I know that you got my order?

Q: Netscape 6.x displays a Red Padlock and will not allow me to place an order.
A:
There is a new encryption standard introduced by Microsoft called TLS 1.0. Netscape 6.x comes with TLS 1.0 encryption turned on. Unfortunately, non-Microsoft web servers (like Creative Cart which is Apache/Linux) have to be updated to include Microsoft TLS 1.0 support. Because of a bug in Netscape 6.x, if TLS 1.0 support is turned on, Netscape will display a red padlock on secure web pages that are not TLS 1.0 compliant. This does not mean the pages are unsecure. It simply means that they use non-Microsoft security routines. Creative Cart uses 128 bit SSL to encrypt the data and this is considered to be the best encryption method in the world. The fact that TLS 1.0 has been enabled in a Netscape browser and it will not display a page with SSL encryption is simply a bug in the Netscape browser. Netscape has a fix for this and about 30 pages of other issues on Netscape's problems with 6.x release notes page. Scroll down to the section entitled "Accessing Pages" to learn how to correct your 6.x browser so it can be used with secure web servers world wide.
